About me

Adrian Moreno was born in 1990 in Valls (Spain). He received B.Sc in Chemistry and M.Sc in Synthesis, Catalysis and molecular design from the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) and the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) in 2014 and 2015, respectively. In 2019, he obtained his Ph. D. working on the development of Single Electron Transfer-Living Radical Polymerization (SET-LRP) in biphasic reaction mixtures and the design of stimuli-cleavable polymers in the sustainable polymer group (SUSPOL) under the supervision of Prof. Gerard Lligadas and Prof. Marina Galià. During his Ph.D., he did a six-month exchange in the group of Prof. Virgil Percec (University of Pennsylvania, USA) to work in the synthesis of complex polymeric architectures through SET-LRP in biphasic systems. Currently, he is doing post-doctoral work at Stockholm University under the guidance of Prof. Mika Sipponen in the sustainable material chemistry group (SUSMATCHEM).

Research area

His research interests lie in the development of lignin-based functional materials for advanced application such as artificial actuators, membranes and coatings.
