About me

M. Berkay Aydın is a Researcher (PhD.) at the Department of Sociology, Uludağ University, Bursa / Turkey. He obtained a PhD. from Middle East Technical University Deparment of Sociology, Ankara /Turkey with his thesis: " Formation of Working Class in a Steel Town in Turkey: A Narration of Workers From Public to Private Sector". It focuses on working class formation process in a steel town (Karabük) at Turkey. He is a guest researcher at the Department of Sociology during the academic year 2018 -2019, totally about 8 months.

His research interests include working class culture, sociology of work, sociology of sport, football fans and football culture, social classes, political sociology, 'justice' and social justice, migration, social movements, media - alternative media. 


Berkay Aydın is working on a research project in Stockholm: "Future Expectations of Young Turkish Migrants in Sweden". Whilst in Sweden, Aydın is working on this project. His research is supported financially by TUBITAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey).
