About me

I hold a BA in general linguistics (2013) from Gothenburg University/ Stockholm University and an MA in language education (2017) from Stockholm University. During and after my studies, I taught Spanish at a secondary school, Catalan at a school for adults, and English in classes for young newcomers. In September 2017, I began my doctoral studies.

My research interests lie within psycholinguistic and educational aspects of multilingual language learning. In my doctoral thesis, I investigate the effects of various factors on the strategic vs. unintentional use of lexical transfer by multilingual school students of Spanish. I use both qualitative analyses and inferential statistics to examine the data.

  • Fuster, C., & Neuser, H. (forthcoming). Exploring intentionality in lexical transfer.

  • Fuster, C., & Neuser, H. (September, 1, 2017) Exploring intentionality in lexical transfer. Paper presented at the 27th European Second Language Association Conference (EuroSLA), University of Reading.

  • Fuster, C. (September, 1, 2016). Tacitly and explicitly expressed crosslinguistic knowledge in transfer. Poster presented at the 10th International Conference on Third Language Acquisition and Multilingualism, University of Vienna.

  • Film interview (September, 2018). Project Språksprånget ("The Language Leap"), Skolverket (The Swedish National Agency for Education). In this interview, I discussed how teachers'/students' perspectives on multilingual phenomena may affect language learning and language anxiety in the classroom, as well as potential ways of strategically using students' background languages as a resource for learning a new language and various possible effects of doing this.
