About me

Every day, every hour, every second of our life, our psyche is an active part of our existence. It is the part of us that makes us understand what we see and hear, how we experience what is happening in our lives, how we do when we understand others, and ourselves. Our psyche is active both when making everyday decisions like if we are sorting waste or put everything in the same basket, how to deal with a boss or colleague who is being difficult and how we choose to be as a parent, friend or lover. The psyche is also an operative part in major life decisions such as which political party we choose to support, how the world leaders reacts in meetings with each other, and if someone chooses to press the red button or not. Our psyche is always a present aspect of our lives.

I am a Doctor of Psychology, a doctoral student in Education, and a qualified subjects teacher. Conveying knowledge about our psyche, in essence, psychology, and to stimulate psychological literacy is what spurs my research in Education. What do we teach our young about psychology? What is the conveyed meaning? How has psychology developed in to the educational subject it is, and where do we stand concerning psychology in school today?

I aim to commnicate research about psychology as a teaching subject, to the world of educational research, to school leaders, teachers, and teacher students, and also to a wider public. I seek to contribute to an increased awareness of the need for psychological knowledge and psychological literacy, and also to the development of psychology as a teaching subject in tune with the modern society. I would also like to initiate what could be a Swedish or Nordic network, on teaching psychology. A collaboration where teachers of psychology, on all levels, through the exchange of experiences, together can strengthen their skills and knowledge concerning the teaching of psychology.
