About me

I have worked more than five years as a deputy director at the department of population policy at the Ministry of health and welfare in South Korea. I have a Master's degree in Future Studies from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (2017), and Bachelor's degree in Sociology (2012). I was selected to participate in the two-year "Young Leader Program" financed by the Korean government.

At Stockholm University Demography Unit, SUDA, through the research, I want to develop my long term vision for the future and coping strategies for the upcoming population risk events. My research is focused on analyzing the various factors that affect the population problems, such as low birth rate and rapid population ageing that happen in the developing countries including South Korea in terms of a gender equality perspective. Through the analysis, I will try to find out how gender equality policy can be an effective way to solve various social issues including childbearing and custody, elderly care.
