Research group

History of Education and Sociology of Education

The research group has an interest in the meaning and evolution of educational systems. The changing conditions of education are highlighted both historically and in present-day terms, on a conceptual and policy level.

About me

My research interests revolve around the internationalization of higher education and migration studies. I studied sociology and anthropology with a focus on social work during my undergraduate studies at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA and the Master's program in International and Comparative Education here at the Department of Education at Stockholm University. I wrote my master's thesis on Native American students' attitudes towards studying abroad.

My dissertation examines the lived experiences of non-EU/EEA international academics in STEM at Swedish higher education institutions. I look at how changes to labor immigration policies alongside reforms to higher education research funding shape international academics' embedding into the workplace, wider society, and long-term careers.
