History of Education and Sociology of Education

The research group has an interest in the meaning and evolution of educational systems. The changing conditions of education are highlighted both historically and in present-day terms, on a conceptual and policy level.

About me

I work as a researcher and lecturer at the Department of Education at Stockholm University.

 My research interests revolve around:

i) Vocational education at upper secondary school level and in adult education with a particular focus on workplace-based learning, language and literacies in vocational education, as well as issues related to inclusion.

ii) Multilingualism and literacies from a critical perspective, for instance how ideas aboutlanguage affect language use and language policies in various practices from the youngest children to adult education.

I have worked in several research and development projects in collaboration with teachers, for instance as a coordinator and network leader for Stockholm Teaching & Learning Studies (STLS) , 2020-2024. Read more about STLS here: https://www.su.se/stockholm-teaching-learning-studies-stls/

I have also been the scientific leader for Ifous' project Vuxenutbildning på distans 2022-2025, which was carried out in collaboration with participating teachers and school leaders. Read more about the project here: https://ifous.se/vuxenutbildning-pa-distans/
