Quantum and Complex Systems

The Bergholtz group explores the world of quantum and complex systems — what it is and what it could be — from the perspective of mathematics and theoretical physics.

About me

I am interested in topological phases and interaction effects both in and out of equilibrium.

Currently, I am exploring analytical methods in coupled-wire constructions, with the prospects of engineering novel fractional quantum Hall states in Moire systems. For open quantum matter, on the other side, I will study Liouvillian skin effect and its generalizations to higher-dimensional lattice models.

I obtained my PhD degree in 2020 supervised by Prof. Karyn Le Hur at Ecole Polytechnique, Paris.  I studied topological Majorana fermion models, including Kitaev spin liquids, through exact mappings and bosonization. Later, I did separate postdocs at Stockholm University and EPFL, in the groups of Prof. Emil J. Bergholtz and Prof. Giuseppe Carleo respectively, where I learned non-Hermitian topology and the modelling of disordered spin liquids in frustrated random quantum magnets.
