About me

I am working as Senior Lecturer in Baltic Languages and Educational Administrator at the Department of Slavic and Baltic Languages, Finnish, Dutch and German at Stockholm University. Since 2024, I have been serving as Director of Studies and Study Counsellor for the subject Baltic Languages. I have also been Board Member for the joint degree M.A. program in Sociolinguistics and Multilingualism since 2024.

I hold a co-tutelle Ph.D. in Baltic Languages from Stockholm University and in Languages of Northern Europe and the Baltics from Johannes Gutenberg-University, Mainz (Germany), which I received in 2021. From 2021 to 2023, I worked as Lecturer, later substitute Senior Lecturer, in German, as well as Research Assistant in Baltic Languages within the Erasmus-funded project DiLILAC at SU. In 2022, I worked as Guest Lecturer at Johannes Gutenberg-University and Vytautas Magnus University, Kaunas (Lithuania), teaching courses within the joint-degree M.A. program in Sociolinguistics and Multilingualism.

Since 2016, I have been teaching within higher education at different universities in Lithuania, Sweden and Germany. Within my current position, I am mostly teaching at the section for Baltic Languages, focusing on Lithuanian language, culture and history on B.A. level, as well as Baltic heritage language teaching and learning and Family Language Policies on M.A. level. Starting from fall 2026, I am also involved in teaching the use of AI tools in the context of learning Lithuanian. My teaching involves also courses as well as supervision and examination of M.A. theses within the join-degree M.A. program in Sociolinguistics and Multilingualism which SU is associated partner of. Currently, I am co-supervisor of one Ph.D. student.

My primary areas of research interests are Multilingualism, Heritage Languages, (Family) Language Policies, Language Teaching and Learning, and Early Literacy Development, with a specific focus on contexts where Lithuanian and/or German are involved.
