About me

Harita Raval is a doctoral student in the ReMath project at, the Department of Teaching and Learning of Stockholm University. Her PhD research project is "A culturally inclusive approach to professional noticing in mathematics teacher education in India and Sweden" Her interest in working towards practice-based teacher education comes from her teaching and learning journey.

Harita holds a master’s degree in mathematics. She has taught mathematics to middle school children for four years in Kendriya Vidyalaya schools and worked as a scientific assistant with the Mathematics education research group of HBCSE, TIFR, for the past seven years.

Harita’s key areas of interest in mathematics education are understanding teacher knowledge through the lens of practice, noticing students’ mathematical thinking, pre-service teachers, and mathematics teacher education.

My teaching focuses on Mathematics Education (Ämnesdidaktik). I have taught the following courses:

HVU10K, HVU10U: Ämnesdidaktik & läroplansteori A (Ma/Nv) (Autumn 2025)

UM8034, UM803U: Delkurs Ämnesdidaktik (ma/nv/tk) (Spring 2025)
