My research investigates how careers, valuation, and education interact across various societal domains, with a focus on the arts, sports, and politics. I hold the title of Docent in Sociology (Uppsala University) and Education (Stockholm University).

The foundation of my work began with my dissertation on literary career aspirations and the market for literary manuscripts, and continued through a three-year project (2019–2022) funded by the Swedish Research Council. In that project, I developed and utilized career databases alongside longitudinal interviews with fiction authors to explore a broader pattern within creative careers: the phenomenon where only a minority of artists persist in their careers following their debut (e.g., after a first book, album, or directorial debut).

Building on this, my ongoing research explores how valuation is applied within literary reception (such as literary awards and book reviews), Nordic cultural cooperation, art education, and talent identification in sports.

I previously earned a Master’s degree in Education from Stockholm University and a PhD in Sociology from Uppsala University. I have also held a postdoctoral position in Sociology at Uppsala University, during which I served as a guest researcher in Sociology at the University of Amsterdam.
