I am professor emerita in education at Stockholm University and head of department of teaching and learning. My research interest concerns teaching and learning in relation to different subject specific contents, further I am interested in developing methods and strategies for a teacher-researcher collaborative research aiming for a more qualified teaching.

Theoretically am I working with activity theory and sociocultural perspectives. I am particularly interested in the educational variant of activity theory, referred to as "learning activity".

I am currently the scientific leader of the research project Problem Situations, Learning Models and Teaching Strategies (PLUS) funded by the Swedish Institute for Educational Research. During the period 2017-2019, I was the scientific leader for another research project funded by the Swedish Institute for Educational Research, which also tested learning activities as a didactic tool in teaching development research.
