Isak Samsten Senior Lecturer

I am a Senior Lecturer in Data Science and Machine Learning, holding a B.Sc. (2010), M.Sc. (2012), and Ph.D. (2017) in Computer Science. My primary research area is explainable and interpretable machine learning (explainable AI), with a particular emphasis on temporal data, such as time series. In this context, I explore methods and systems capable of providing answers to questions such as "Why was this prediction made?" (explanations) and "What changes would be required for an alternative outcome?" (counterfactual explanations).
