Research
My research interests concern the use and function of the classical world in later periods in history (Classical Reception Studies) as well as the History of Knowledge in general and the History of Humanities in particular.
My current research aims to explore the demarcation between the humanities and the natural sciences during the first half of the 19th century in Sweden. My main interest lies in the question of how the classical-humanistic paradigm of knowledge influenced the discourse and practice of natural scientists at the threshold of modern society.
