About me
Since June 2025, I am a professor at the Department of Astronomy working in Solar Physics. During the past years my research has focused on addressing the chromospheric heating problem though modelling of observational data with inversion techniques and polarized radiative transfer calculations. I also have experience with instrumentations since I wrote the core pipeline to reduce data from the CRISP and CHROMIS Fabry-Perot interferomenters at the Swedish 1-m Solar Telescope.
I am currently a board member of the European Solar Physics division and member of the Science Advisory Group of the European Solar Telescope.
My research has been largely funded by personal research grants. In 2017 I was awarded a Starting Grant from the European Research Council (ERC), and in 2023 I was awarded the ERC Consolidator grant.
I have taught the following courses at Stockholm University:
- 2016. Polarized radiative transfer course (7.5 HP), PhD level (co-taught with prof. O. Kochukhov, Uppsala University).
- 2018-2021, 2023-2024. Astrophysical spectra (7.5 HP), bachelor level.
- 2022. Stellar atmospheres (7.5 HP), master level.
- 2022. Introduction to scientific programming in C++ (2.5 HP), PhD level.
- 2025. Computational astrophysics (7.5 HP), master level.
I have participated as teacher in the following graduate-level schools:
- 2015. Solar magnetic fields: modeling and measuring techniques, Instituto de Astrofísica de Andalucía, Spain.
