About me
Professor in Cinema Studies.
Most of the research focus on minor cinemas and has been carried out within the scope of extensive research projects funded by the Swedish Research Council: Swedish Experimental Cinema (2006-08); The Stockholm Film Workshop and the Cultural Politics of Minor Cinemas (2010-12); The Cultural Practice of Immigrant Filmmaking (2013-2015); and a current project together with Miguel Fernández Labayen (Madrid) on the histories of the New American Cinema tours in Europe and the emergence of European experimental film cultures (2021-2024).
In addition, there are a number of historically and historiographically oriented projects about minor cinemas, for example on the Swedish history and context of the legendary documentary "Finally Got the News" (1970).
