About me
I am a trained signed language interpreter, speech-to-text interpreter and deafblind interpreter from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) with a bachelor's degree in sign language and interpreting (2017), and a bachelor's degree in social anthropology (2013) and a bachelor's degree in special education (2014) from the Arctic University of Norway (UiT). I have a master's degree (2021) in applied linguistics from NTNU with a focus on sign language interpreting. I have been working as an interpreter since 2017, and from 2022 to 2024 I have been teaching on the bachelor's programme in Norwegian sign language at NTNU. As a doctoral student, my research interest is signed language interpreted interaction.
Spring term 2026 I teach the following courses:
Teckenspråk och tolkning II (TTA236)
Teckenspråkstolkning – kandidatkurs (TTA471)
In my doctoral project, I use a conversation analysis approach to examine the communicative challenges that can arise in signed language interpreted student-supervisor conferences in higher education. My supervisors is Helena Bani Shoraka (main supervisor) and Lindsay Ferrara.
