Mai Anh Nguyen

I am a doctoral student in Jonathan Martin's group at SciLifeLab working on the development of Airborne Global Early Warning System for Persistent Mobile Organic Contaminants (ALARM). My research focuses on Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) foam as a promising passive air sampler to capture a wide range of semi-volatile gases and fine particles. The foam also has a clean chemical background and chemical resistance enabling effective molecular discovery by nontarget analysis.

I began my science journey at Vietnam National University, majoring in Environmental Sciences. Then, with the Erasmus Mundus scholarship, I received my Master's degree in Environmental Contamination and Toxicology. Experiencing the broad range of environmental research in France, Norway, Spain and Germany during my Master inspired me to continue my science journey in doctoral level.
