Clinical developmental psychology

How do conditions such as ADHD, autism and anxiety arise? What underlies the everyday difficulties experienced by children and adults with these conditions? What is the best method to assess these conditions and what is it like to live with a diagnosis?

Clinical psychology, neuroscience and health

The research group conducts scientific research to increase our knowledge in clinical psychology, primarily interventions for mental health problems in people with and without neurodiversity such as autism and ADHD as well as mechanisms and neural correlates in the brain.

About me

I am a licensed psychologist and researcher with a PhD in psychology from Stockholm University. Since September 2026, I have been a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for Psychiatry Research, Karolinska Institutet.

My research focuses on CBT, digital mental health, and the development and evaluation of psychological interventions. My doctoral research at Stockholm University focused on stress and other forms of work-related mental ill-health among working adults with ADHD, including the development and evaluation of a CBT intervention for adults with ADHD.

In my current postdoctoral work, I primarily study relapse prevention following CBT for children and adolescents with obsessive-compulsive disorder, with a focus on identifying early signs of deterioration and providing timely support within child and adolescent mental health services.

I have previously worked clinically as a psychologist in specialist psychiatric care and have been involved in teaching on the psychology program at Stockholm University.

My teaching at Stockholm University has primarily been connected to the communication skills track in the psychology program. The track runs from semesters 1 to 5 and is designed to systematically and progressively develop general psychological communication skills.

I have, among other things, lectured on the psychological interview as a professional method and supervised teaching sessions involving video-based feedback.

My doctoral research at Stockholm University focused on stress and other forms of work-related mental ill-health among working adults with ADHD. The project included both studies of experiences of work-related mental ill-health and the development and evaluation of an internet-delivered CBT intervention for adults with ADHD.

Earlier, I was also involved in research on New Year’s resolutions and behavior change. This work resulted, among other things, in a large study of New Year’s resolutions and the book Tio i tolv (Natur & Kultur), on goals and behavior change.

My current research is conducted at Karolinska Institutet and focuses on relapse prevention following treatment for obsessive-compulsive disorder in children and adolescents.

Fresh Start 2025 – New Year's Resolutions and Strategies for Goal-Attainment

Common New Year’s resolutions focus on changes in behavior with an expectation of positive outcomes regarding physical and mental health. The purpose of this project is to investigate Swedes' New Year's resolutions, how well we adhere to them, and whether the likelihood of a person keeping their resolution can be increased.

You and me and ADHD

This research project aims to explore a new couples course, "You and I and ADHD", designed for couples where one or both partners have ADHD.
