About me

Doctoral student

Section for Child and Youth Studies

I like research, books and scientific articles. I’ve a lot of good experience from Universities and have a broad educational background in the humanities, social and behavioral sciences. I am a licensed psychologist, have a Master degree in Psychology and a Bachelor degree in Religious Studies. I am currently a Doctoral Student in Child and Youth Studies.

I am particularly fond of intervention research, research that deals with what works. In intervention research, I am interested in everything from universal prevention to treatment.

Specifically, I am interested in children's and young people's exposure to violence such as abuse, bullying, domestic violence and sexual violence. With such research interest, it becomes particularly important with what actually works to reduce children's and young people's exposure to violence.

Research

Parents' stories about school violence among children

My PhD-project orginates from parental narratives in complaints on children's exposure for degrading treatment and bullying by peers in school. My supervisors are Åsa Bartholdsson and Anna Franzén.

Based on 200 parantal complaints to the Child and School Student Representative I am currently researching the following areas:

  • Parantal awarness of bullying and child disclosure
  • Patterns of school violence and children's health related responses
  • Children's suicidal ideation
