About me

I am teaching students in European ethnology as well as at the Cultural Studies Program and at the Bachelor program in Diversity Studies.

I have done research in different fields, for instance about elderly care, ideas about racism in Swedish public debate, the discourse on immigrant patients in Swedish health care, and about Polish born physicians that has immigrated to Sweden. I have also written about culture theory and ethnographic methods. I have two main focuses in my research. One is cultural notions of normality and the other is cultural aspects of work life in health care. My latest research project – together with Helena Pettersson and Katarzyna Wolanik Boström – continuous my interest in transnational mobility among highly skilled professionalsis. The project is about mobility among physicians, knowledge transfer, transnational experiences, and occupational culture.

Latest research project
