About me
I am a professor of sociology, and my research interests are mainly labor market and welfare sociology. At present, my research interests are mainly work environment and health in a comparative perspective. I have also been involved in research on differences in sick leave between countries and how these differences can be explained; how different welfare systems (such as unemployment insurance) affect human health and differences in health between different social groups; and how the welfare state affects people's values and attitudes. I am also interested in social policy in low- and middle-income countries. I have just completed a project, financed by the Riksbankens Jubilumsfond, where I analyze whether different forms of work-retirement transitions affect health after retirement, and especially for individuals with demanding working conditions at the end of working life. I am currently involved in a project, funded by Forte, on psychosocial work environment and health in an organizational and comparative perspective.
I am responsible for the course 'Work organization and work environment' at AKPA 2.
I also teach other courses, such as 'Swedish labour market in comparative perspectives' and 'Individuals, organizations and labour market: sociological perspectives on occupations and workplaces’.
