Adult Learning

The research group has a broad interest in adults learning from adolescence to older ages. We study formal learning in adult education, higher education and popular education, but also learning in informal setting such as working and leisure life. We have a specific interest in studying transitions between different life events, education, and work.

Career Development and Guidance

Career Development and Guidance is an international research area which focuses on youth and adult learning in relation to educational and vocational choices and their career development and mobility.

About me

Staffan Nilsson is an associate professor in education in the Department of education, Stockholm University. His main research interests are related to issues concerning the relationship among education, learning and work, professionalisation, professionalism, graduate employability, organisational strategies and methods for securing the long-term supply of competence, for example, talent management, recruitment, and selection, and on the structural balance between demand and supply of competence on the labour market.
