About me

 

Johanna Schiratzki is a Guest Professor of Family Law at the Faculty of Law, Stockholm University and a researcher at the Department of Sociology. Her research concerns legal aspects of the principle of the best interests of the child, and covers numerous issues of child, family and welfare law.

Her current research includes the projects "Who decides on a child's health care? An interdisciplinary study on the child's right to participation in decisions concerning care and treatment" and “Fragmented child law – consequences of conflicting rules on child maintenance”.

Johanna Schiratzki has expertise in child and family law. She works with legal issues regarding custody and maintenance with a children's rights perspective. A large part of Schiratzki's research concerns the principle of the best interests of the child as a legal construct. She has formulated, researched and taught in the legal sub-diciplines: Child Law, Welfare Law and Relationship Law.
