About me

I am a passionate ecologist with a broad interest in everything about nature, but my main interest is in biodiversity and socio-ecological management conflicts in agricultural landscapes. I have a MSc in Biology and Earth Science from Stockholm University and have during and after my studies been involved in research projects in both the Swedish alpine regions and more agriculture dominated areas in the south as well as rural areas of Japan. Besides the research, bird watching and orienteering take most of my time.

Most of my teaching is within the Master course in Landscape Ecology, where I teach statistics, give lectures and supervise the final course projects. I also supervise BSc degree projects.

My PhD project investigates how the EU Single Payment Scheme's regulations on tree density in pastures affect farmers decisions on pasture management and how that, in turn, affects biodiversity. It is a multidisciplinary project in cooperation with the University of Gothenburg, where the focus of my PhD is on the biodiversity values in terms of plant, bird and bat diversity. The study is conducted in the newly established biosphere reserve East Vättern Scarp Landscape in southern Sweden.
