About me

I am the captain of the R/V Electra and my vision is for her to be used efficiently and extensively. Partly by expanding the activities that have previously taken place on Aurelia and partly by finding completely new research areas and courses that could use such a flexible platform as she is. I see Electra as a living project that is never finished, but constantly evolving as new research groups discover new applications.
 
My background is as a sea captain with over 25 years at sea. Much of that time has been spent on the icebreaker Oden where I have made a dozen research expeditions to the Arctic and four to Antarctica. I also spent five years working on commercial seismic and technology/procedure development for seismic surveys in ice-covered waters.
