About me
Dr. Atiah is a Ghanaian female researcher currently undertaking a postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Meteorology (MISU), Stockholm University, under the supervision of Prof. Thorsten Mauritsen. She is working on a two-year project on Tropical Precipitation Tipping Points (TPTP), which aims to improve understanding of atmospheric processes that drive climate feedbacks.
Her research focuses on soil moisture–precipitation feedback mechanisms, convective cloud dynamics in relation to large-scale climate variability, and the roles of the Hadley and Walker circulations within the framework of global energetic constraints. The overall goal of the project is to better understand how these coupled processes may influence climate stability and potential tipping behaviour in the tropics.
Her broader research interests lie in climate change, ecosystem resilience, and climate impact studies, particularly in tropical climate systems.
