About me

I am a PhD student in the Department of Ecology, Environment and Plant Sciences (DEEP). My research focus on the coevolution and molecular background of species interactions in geographic mosaics.

The main aim of my project is to connecting ecology, immunology and population genetics to understand the co-evolution in a host-parasitoid (Galerucella-Asecodes) system. We use genomic tools to exploring the molecular background of geographic variation in parasitoid virulence and host immune responses. Specifically, the project involves:

-Differential expression of immune genes between two closely related beetle species with different immunocompetence following attack by Asecodes parviclava species;

-Mechanisms underlying variation in parastoid virulence: Comparative genomics of virulent and avirulent parastoid strains;

-Evolution of parasitoid virulence: presence of resistant hosts causes evolution of increased parasitoid virulence.
