Yoko Yamazaki Researcher

Since January 2022 to December 2025, I was working on the project "traveling voices" at the Baltic section of Slabafinety at Stockholm University in collaboration with the LAMP programme. The project attempted to reconstruct the historical development of the voice systems of the Germeanic and Balto-Slavic branches of the Indo-European language family, and to see whether the development could be projected to the migration routes of the ancestral speakers.

From August 10th 2018, I was a postdoctoral fellow at this institution funded by the program, International Postdoc, from Vetenskapsrådet. The theme of the project is the historical development of the Baltic preterit system. This program enables me to conduct my research at the University of Zurich for a research stay from October 2018 to 2021.
