Research group The Care Research Group
The group meets regularly to discuss ongoing research. The members’ research interests include working conditions in eldercare and disability services; ethnic and linguistic challenges and opportunities in the everyday practice of care; informal care; person-centered care, user participation and shared decision-making as well as older people's changing family relationships in late modern society.
The members of the research group also participate in the societal debate about disability, aging and long-term care, by for example, presenting and discussing research results with politicians, decision makers and interest organizations.
We regularly meet in order to present our research findings, plan research applications and comment on texts in progress.
The participants in the care research group are also engaged in activities outside the academic arena. This includes producing teaching materials and contributing to popular science publications or current debates as well as presenting our research to policy makers and interest groups and in media outlets.
The care research group is also responsible for arranging the annual “Äldreforskardag” where those working in the long-term care sector as well as policy-makers and representatives of various organizations, students and researchers are invited to hear more about our current research.
The group members are active in various networks and collaborate with international researchers.
