Research group Group Petersen

Our main emphasis is on genomic evolution. Some of the questions we ask are: How has the genome evolved as a response to nutritional dependence of a host? What happens when a parasite loses photosynthesis? What is the molecular interaction between parasites and hosts? We address these and other questions in different groups of parasitic plants, but a main interest is on mistletoes.
