Research group Network for Early Modern History

The Network for Early Modern History is a platform for collaboration between researchers, PhD candidates and Master level students who research early modern history.

The purpose of the network is to:

  • Initiate research collaboration between researchers from different universities and departments
  • Promote Swedish early modern history research internationally
  • Encourage the expansion of non-nordic subjects and perspectives within Swedish early modern history research
  • Strengthen the interest for early modern history issues within the next generation of historians.

A first Early Modern Forum was arranged in Stockholm by the network in March of 2022. The second Early Modern Forum will take place in Gothenburg in March 2024.

The network was initiated by Svante Norrhem, Lund University, Margaret Hunt, Uppsala University, and Karin Sennefelt, Stockholm University.

Doctoral students and other interested historians of the Early Modern History Network gather in independently organized reading group. Read more about it and the schedule for the spring semester here:
