Research project Reaching secondary school? School's support for parents.

Research shows that schools' cooperation with parents can help to compensate for differences in students' educational attainment, but also facilitate educational transitions. However, knowledge of how schools' cooperation with parents of students in high-risk transitions is organised and designed is limited. There is therefore an urgent need for further studies that deepen the knowledge of how schools work with parents and what organisational conditions favour the work of school staff.
The project focuses in particular on how school staff's work with parents of pupils in year 9 who are at risk of not qualifying for upper secondary school is organised and designed.
The study aims to answer the following questions:
- What are the organisational conditions in schools for school staff's cooperation with parents?
- What methods and strategies do school staff use to co-operate with parents?
