Research subject Science Education

The research in science education is focused on teaching and learning of science at different levels within the educational system as well as in informal learning contexts.

Researchers in science education utilise a number of different data collection methods and research approaches, such as interviews, classroom observations, surveys, textual analysis, as well as modeling and design of teaching. The research is often enacted in collaboration with municipalities and schools, for example in the form of teaching-developing research projects in close collaboration with active teachers.

Several of the researchers approach the teaching and learning of science through interdisciplinary perspectives including education for sustainable development, SSI, language, gender and sexuality and identity.
