Research subject Cognitive psychology

Cognitive psychology deals with how people understand their surroundings and themselves and how they develop and use different skills.

Mental processes and structures in these contexts are taken into account. The following sub-areas are treated in cognitive psychology: perception, attention, how information is encoded, stored, retrieved and used in and from memory, concept formation, knowledge representation, thinking, problem solving, decision making, creativity and production and understanding of language.

The Division of Clinical Psychology at the Department of Psychology conducts research and organizes undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral studies in the area of cognitive psychology.
