Our projects often take comparative approaches, both between countries and over time. An important area is the Swedish welfare state’s current challenges, both within the broad systems of social insurance, health and medical care systems and within the social services. Here we are particularly interested in the political handling of issues relating to alcohol, drugs, doping, tobacco, and gambling (ANDTG).
The research area includes questions about the effects of interest group activities, lobbying, deregulation, market adaptation and privatization. We are also interested in the relationship between research and public health relevant policy in the field of welfare.
