Carl Cederström, researcher at the Stockholm Business School, Stockholm University, and his colleague André Spicer, professor of organisational behaviour at the Cass Business School at City, University of London, have previously collaborated on research on the industry that has grown up around people's interest in "improving" their lives. This research led to the publication of the book The Wellness Syndrome. Their most recent project represents a further development of this work. During the course of a year, they tested a number of popular methods of self-improvement, including increasing their productivity – and attempting to become millionaires. The research project has also led to the publication of a book, entitled The Wild Hunt for a Better Me.

In this short film you can follow some of what Carl Cederström put himself through during this year.
