REGAPS Work package 4

REGAPS Work package 4: Swedish gambling policy development and impact.

Since 1 January 2019, large parts of the Swedish gambling market have been re-regulated to a licensing system. In this work package, society's political management of the gambling market is examined through, for example, regulation of gambling advertising, self-exclusion, but also concepts such as moderation and duty of care. The area also examines young people's gambling and perceptions about gambling as well as Swedish court rulings regarding crimes caused by gambling problems.

Area 4 offers:

  • Knowledge of the development and meaning of the Swedish gambling market.
  • Knowledge of regulation, content and interpretations regarding gambling advertising.
  • Knowledge of the effectiveness and best practices for consumer protection measures to reduce gambling problems.
  • Knowledge of young people's gambling and how they reflect on gambling for money and responsibility.
  • Knowledge of crimes and debts linked to gambling problems.
