Arabic with Middle Eastern and North African Studies V
Semester five in Arabic with Middle Eastern and North African Studies.
The course consists of reading and making a literary analysis of modern Arabic literature. In this course you can choose between doing an internship, a field study or take the course Middle Eastern and North African Politics and Economy.

Course structure
The course contains of three modules where one module is electable.
Modules
Text Analysis: Literary Texts, 7.5 credits
In this module, the student deepens his or her knowledge of reading and analyzing fiction in modern standard Arabic. The course deals with Arabic literature based on a specific theme and provides knowledge of the selected authors, genre and context.
The student also acquires knowledge of basic literary theory and method and is given an introduction to classical Arabic.
Text Analysis: Factual Prose, 7.5 credits
In this module, the student deepens his or her knowledge of reading and analyzing non-fiction in modern standard Arabic. The course addresses a current theme through reading and analyzing a selection of Arabic sources.
