Biologists in working life
This course covers the biologist's skills and competences, knowledge of the biologist's job market and career planning.
The skills that you develop will ease your transition from studies to a professional career. The course includes, among other topics, knowledge of the job market, how to build a professional network and wider aspects of the professional world. The aim of the course is to give you knowledge to help you make informed decisions regarding your career and encourage you to discover new possibilities.

Course structure
Teaching format
Teaching consists of seminars and exercises. Seminars include presentations by alumni (previous students) that talk about their career paths, how they use their competences etc, as well as students presenting their experiences and reflections from traineeships.
Assessment
Examination is based on home assignments. To pass the course you will need to complete four written assignments where you reflect on different aspects of your personal transition from studies to work life.

Schedule
The schedule will be available no later than one month before the start of the course. We do not recommend print-outs as changes can occur. At the start of the course, your department will advise where you can find your schedule during the course. -
