The course builds on knowledge in quantitative methods from Quantitative methods 7.5 ECTS or equivalent social science method courses.
The aim of the course is to provide the student with deeper knowledge about and skills in time series analysis. As time series analysis to a greater extent is used in the economic, historic and political science disciplines, this knowledge and skills are necessary for the student in order to understand and evaluate content in e.g. international academic journals within Economic History and International relations. Additionally, the course introduces students to independently conduct time series analysis in statistical software and to exercises in presentation of results from quantitative analyses in written format.
Instruction is given in the form of seminars, computer exercises and independent self-studies. All courses on the Master's level are all held in English.
The course assessments consist of participation in seminar discussions, written assignments and written exams, and attendance to mandatory seminars and computer sessions.
