About this education
With a starting point in the multiple conceptions of postmodernism as a concept, this course addresses central discussions regarding its aesthetic, narratological, theoretical, and historical definitions. We go through different perspectives on postmodernism as a cultural phenomenon and on postmodernity as a means of periodization. These discussions will be grounded in close readings of literary texts. The course will serve to create an understanding of central literary concepts associated with postmodernism as well as of the need to problematize the periodization of cultural developments.
