Doing Accounting Research
The course focuses business studies approaches and methods. Learning activities consist of lectures, seminars, group projects, academic writing and individual readings.
The lectures cover the following themes:
- Methods of data collection and data analysis in qualitative and quantitative research
- Qualitative and quantitative research strategy and research design
- Philosophy of science
The seminars are devoted to discussing and applying these themes from a qualitative or a quantitative research perspective.
The overall aim of the course is to impart knowledge about research methods relevant to the study of accounting and to develop students’ ability to design and carry out scientific research studies.
