Tellus III - Geology

Practical geoscience with lab and field assignments. Topics covered includes the identification of minerals and rocks, the description and identification of rocks and geological structures in the field, and geological mapping.

Welcome activities

Stockholm University organises a series of welcome activities that stretch over a few weeks at the beginning of each semester. The programme is voluntary (attendance is optional) and includes Arrival Service at the airport and an Orientation Day, see more details about these events below.
Your department may also organise activities for welcoming international students. More information will be provided by your specific department.

Pre-departure information

New in Sweden

The course is intended for students who have completed Tellus I and Tellus II.

Course period spring 2021: Tuesday April 27–Thursday May 6 (incorrect study period in the right column).

Spring term 21 | The location for Tellus III – Geology excursion has been changed from Scotland to Sweden. This is because of the ongoing pandemic and associated travel restrictions. The excursion dates are unchanged. The excursion will start in Stockholm on April 27 (afternoon) and end in Stockholm on May 6 (morning). Accommodation will be provided for the entire excursion. If students from outside Sweden are unable to get to Sweden because of travel restrictions, or if we are required to do so because of other restrictions, we will broadcast the entire excursion via Zoom.
