The independent work aims at providing insight into and experience of scientific work within geochemistry. Planning, analyses and interpretations of the scientific task form a central part. Literature search, scientific report writing and oral presentations of the research results in seminars will be trained.
The course provides knowledge and experience both for further academic studies and for employment in industry and the public sector.
The course is given each term and can be started and ended any time during the term. Together with the supervisor/s, the student establishes a project description which needs to be approved by the responsible professor in Geochemistry.
Examination includes both a written report and oral presentation of a scientific work in Geochemistry, and assessment of experimental and/or field-related skills.
Note that the course literature can be changed up to two months before the start of the course.
Will be based on scientific articles relevant for the independent work and will be provided by the supervisor/s and searched for by the student.
