About this education
Modern global history is a lively field of historical research. The contemporary processes of globalization require global history perspective, as the understanding of past based on nation state perspective is not enough. The course will focus on the transformation of the world between c. 1800 and present with a special focus on the industrialization and globalization of world economy, and the political consequences of globalization. Another purpose of the course is to enlighten the intrigue relations between national and international politics, between the 19th-century invention of nation state and the evolvement of international order, and in the 20th century the history of international organizations (the League of Nations and United Nations) and the 20th century wars (WW 1 and 2 and the Cold War).
