This course discusses different theoretical and methodological perspectives within human geography.

Purpose and learning objectives

Through this course you will be able to reflect on - Human Geography as a discipline and perspective - relations between, on the one hand, theoretical and methodological perspectives and, on the other hand, research questions and research design - theoretical and methodological aspects in literature in human geography

Content and teaching methods

The aim with this course is to give an overview of perspectives from different time periods although the emphasis is on more current theories and methods. The student’s skills in scrutinizing literature from its theoretical and methodological starting points are improved. The course consists of seminars, method training and verbal and written assignments.
