The course is divided into two parts. The first part covers the fundamental principles of the bonding in organometallic compounds and the basic reaction steps of the metalcatalyzed reactions. The principles of chemical bonding and organometallic reactivity are applied in the second part of the course for transition metal catalysis. A number of synthetically useful catalytic processes are covered, and detailed reaction mechanisms for these processes are discussed. The principles for asymmetric catalysis is presented.
