Art Law
This course is a part of the International Master's Program in Curating, including Art, Management and Law. The course focuses on legal issues of relevance in an art and exhibition context.
It presents the legal basics of intellectual property (IP) with a focus on Copyright, also an overview folklore and cultural heritage, contract basics including jurisdiction and choice of law.
The course also introduces freedom of speech and “illegal” art, branding and management of rights.

Teaching format
Lectures, seminars, and assignments. Participation in course activities is obligatory.
Assessment
The course is assessed through the evaluation of an individual written component.
