Inequality, Gender and Power in Latin America

  • 7.5 credits

The course gives an introduction to how inequalities in Latin America and the Caribbean have dawned, and traces continuity and change in the relationships between gender, sexuality, class, ethnicity and 'race'. These power-relations are studied in light of historical slavery and the development of nations. The course also treats how political movements in the region have undertaken questions regarding power, inequality, and change, as well as the challenges which Latin America faces today in terms of the maintenance of human rights.

Further course information will appear soon on this page. Until then, information can be found on the department website.
